General Introduction of the Department: The Insurance Program of the Finance-Banking and Insurance Department was opened in 2005 and was changed to the Banking and Insurance Program in 2009.
Purpose of the Department: The Department of Finance-Banking and Insurance is to train modern professional personnel with the qualifications required by the relevant sector, who have internalized the concepts and principles related to their field, have the professional knowledge and skills to carry out banking and insurance transactions effectively, and have strong human relations.
In this context;
-Having sufficient background in the field related issues,
-Able to adapt quickly to the changing conditions of business life and today,
-Able to identify problems, interpret and evaluate data using the basic knowledge and skills acquired in the field,
-Able to effectively use the techniques, tools and information technologies required for banking and insurance applications,
-Able to find solutions to the problems that he may encounter in his professional life,
-Having high ethical values and social responsibility, sensitive to the environment, prone to teamwork and communication skills,
-Developing solution proposals within the framework of the principles required by his profession,

Fields of Study: Especially in recent years, there have been great developments in the insurance sector in our country, and this situation has attracted the attention of many large international insurance and finance sectors in the world, and many global-scale companies have started to invest in our country. As a result, there is a huge shortage of personnel in this sector and the sector is in great need of qualified, dynamic and young personnel trained in this field.
Graduates of the department can easily find employment opportunities as intermediate staff in branches and general directorates of banks, insurance companies and agencies. They can also work in brokerage, appraisal and actuarial firms. In addition, they can be employed as private pension intermediaries in insurance and reinsurance companies. In addition, there are opportunities to find employment in all companies, all financial institutions and the public sector. Our graduate students are trained to fulfill different duties and responsibilities in the administrative and financial fields in the mentioned sectors.
In addition, our graduates can operate in the field of insurance by opening their own private offices.
Students who complete the program and graduate with an associate degree can complete a bachelor's degree in the departments related to the vertical transfer exam, or they have the right to complete a bachelor's degree in the relevant departments of Anadolu University Open Education Faculty with an exam-free pass..
The Importance and Future of the Profession: In today's economies, the functions and importance of banks and insurance companies are increasing. The increase in the number of employees in banks and insurance companies is an important indicator of this situation. As the financial sector, which is the cornerstone of growth, continues to develop, the need for qualified personnel with high professional knowledge will increase day by day.
Vertical Transfer Opportunities: Our students who graduate from the department can complete their 4-year undergraduate education by vertical transfer to the following departments: Actuarial, Banking and Finance, Economics, Econometrics, Economics and Finance, Business, Capital Markets, Insurance, International Finance, International Banking, International Trade, International Financing.
Lecturers: Expert, knowledgeable and experienced lecturers work in our department. Equipped instructors are employed in order to provide our students with a high level of theoretical and practical education in the professional field.
Doç.Dr. Pınar PEHLİVAN – Head of Department: She completed his undergraduate education at Gazi University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Department of Economics, her master's degree from Gazi University, Department of Economics Theory, and her doctorate from Manisa Celal Bayar University, Department of Economics. She has experience as an inspector in a private bank. She has national and international publications, projects, success certificates and awards. She teaches economics, banking, foreign trade and foreign exchange courses.
Öğr.Gör. Anıl İlkem ASLAN: She graduated from Manisa Celal Bayar University, Department of Business Administration. She completed her master's degree in Manisa Celal Bayar University SBE Production Management and Marketing. She teaches business, insurance, accounting. She is pursuing her PhD in business administration.
Öğr.Gör. Mazhar DEDE: He is a graduate of Manisa Celal Bayar University, Department of Economics. He completed his master's degree in Manisa Celal Bayar University SBE Accounting and Finance. He also has experience in insurance. He teaches insurance, accounting, finance. He continues his PhD in Accounting and Finance.
